Compassion Connectors Celebrate Compassion

Compassion Connectors Australia join with the Global Compassion Coalition (GCC), The Charter for Compassion and, The Compassion Council Australia to supercharge our national and global movement towards a more compassionate world.

We Celebrate Compassion and explore the GCC’s Festival of Compassion theme of ‘Come Home’ along with the Charter for Compassion’s theme ‘Compassion in Action’.

The themes are a powerful invitation to ‘Come Home’ to ourselves, each other and to the Earth. Through grief, joy and collective action, we aim to remember who we are and how we belong.

Connectors: Terry Ayling, Jayendra Shah, Lisa Behan, Helen Murphy, Alison Turner, Mahesh Trivedi and Maureen Sansom share their stories, perceptions and knowledge as a call to compassion across the dimension of BEING:

  1. The HEAD – Understanding Compassion: Compassion and the story of human connection
  • What does it mean to be human and why compassion, connection and community are so important to us?
  • What have we lost and how do we return to what is true?
  1. The HEART – Practicing Compassion: Compassion as a skill and its practical applications.
  • What makes us whole and how do we remember we are not alone?
  • What have we been doing to bring more compassion to our world?
  1. The HAND – Living compassion: Compassion as a uniting force
  • What will we build and how do we begin again, together?
  • What other steps can we take as individuals to work together to help build a more compassionate world?

Through the voices of these connectors, we are invited to reflect on the ways compassion operates in our lives—through our thoughts, our feelings, and our actions. By engaging with the HEAD, we deepen our understanding of the vital role compassion plays in human connection and community. With the HEART, we recognise compassion as a skill to be nurtured, one that enables us to bring wholeness into our own lives and support those around us. And by extending into the HAND, we acknowledge that compassion is not just a sentiment, but a force for collective change, urging us to take practical steps together to create a kinder, more connected world.
